In January 2026, Macy's named 14 stores in 12 states that it would close as part of its plan to shrink its store count. All 14 had closed by fall 2026, most in March and April. Here they are; click a store for its address and closing date.

Macy's didn't publish the last day for most stores; where only a month or season is known, that's what's shown.
What the map shows
- Three stores closed on the same day: Atlanta's Northlake Mall, Raleigh's Triangle Town Center and Pittsburgh Mills near Tarentum, Pennsylvania, all on Sunday, April 26, 2026.
- Northlake Mall lost its last department store. The Atlanta store opened in 1971 as Davison's and became a Macy's in 1985; Sears, JCPenney and Kohl's had already left the mall.
- A whole mall went with one store. The Mall at Fox Run in Newington, New Hampshire, closed in January 2026 and is being redeveloped, with a Costco planned on the site.
- One closure wasn't a department store: the furniture clearance center in Tukwila, Washington.
- More are coming, slowly. In 2024, Macy's said it would close about 150 stores by the end of 2026. It has since stretched that out, and about 65 more closures are expected through 2028. We'll add them here when Macy's names them.

How this map was checked
The list is Macy's own, from its January 2026 announcement as reported by Retail Dive, Fox Business and others, which agree on every store and address. Closing dates come from local news and state layoff notices. This page isn't affiliated with Macy's.
